Responsibilities and Duties:I provide in-home therapy for children ages 2-9. I coordinate with parents to find the optimal schedule for the session, which may include breaks for the child. As an RBT, I do my best to answer questions the family may have, and appropriately escalate such questions to the supervising BCBA.In session, I modify reinforcement based on the child's interests and continue to sample new reinforcement options. This leads to better responding to the therapy provided, as good reinforcement must be present in order for discrete trial training (DTT) to be successful.Natural environment training (NET) is practiced, as I work with children in-home and out in the community. Whenever possible, generalization is included in session programming, and I continue to find new modes to teach in (3D, 2D, video modeling, et cetera).As per the employer, I must be- Available for supervision, phone conferences, and team meetings deemed necessary by my supporting BCBA. - ABA Therapists / Behavior Technicians continuously monitor the client’s response to treatment through data collection methods written and supervised by my BCBA (or LABA).

1:1 Behavior TherapistInstructors are assigned a caseload of 2-3 children and work as part of a team to deliver the clients’ direct behavioral treatment, working one-to-one with each child in his/her home and/or school/daycare setting. Each child’s treatment program is designed and supervised by a Clinic Supervisor, who is supported by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Team.In brief, the intervention is based on shaping behavior through reinforcement of successive approximations, prompting and fading procedures, and use of positive reinforcers that are child-specific and functional (i.e., serve the intent of increasing behavior). Examples of such reinforcers are small bites of food, playing with a favorite toy, looking at a favorite book, and social rewards such as verbal praise, tickles, hugs, and "rides through the air."As intervention progresses, reinforcement is expanded, whenever possible, to include more natural and social reinforcers. The intervention is structured so that appropriate behaviors are maximized through prompting and positive reinforcement. Inappropriate behaviors are reduced by teaching alternate, more socially acceptable forms of communicating the same needs.

Provide early intensive, behavior intervention services for clients aged 2 – 7 years with an Autism (ASD) diagnosis. Uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with children who have higher needs in a 1:1 setting.Responsibilities:- Paired 1:1 with a child in a group setting to implement and track therapeutic goals and progress to help increase independence with developmentally appropriate skills.- Assist clients with increasing independence, skill development, self-care, safety, sensory processing, communication, and other areas.- Documentation and data collection; utilize an iPad to track therapeutic goals.- Services are person-centered, responsive, and engaging to the clients and their families.- Provide services in a clinic based environment, as well as in a client’s home. The service setting varies according to clients’ needs.

As an apprentice I assisted with teaching classes. This included paying close attention to the behavior of the people, as well as their canine partners, in order to better the learning experience.

I assisted in teaching a variety of different agility classes. I was expected to assist in setting the classes up and taking them down. When clients asked training questions, I either provided feedback, or directed them to a more experienced source.Business closed end of November 2016 due to death of proprietor.
