I managed a group of 8 people to ensure fifteen days of events [an eight-film season on Javier Bardem&Penélope Cruz at Filmhouse Edinburgh; screening of more than 100 short-films in five different venues across Edinburgh; a conference on Historical Memory by British specialists at University of Edinburgh and a photo exhibition].- NORMAN MCLAREN-SPANISH ANIMATION TODAY: CONVERGING IDENTITIES? 2010In collaboration with Andrew Ginger from Univ. of Stirling, and assisted by one collaborator in the design of brochure, I created, produced and completed by myself a 500 hours work and ten-days film season that focused on the link between Norman McLaren-contemporary Spanish animation. Screenings at Stirling and Edinburgh, visit&conference by Spanish animation specialist Malu Barnuevo, as well as presence of Spanish animator Coke Riobóo (Goya Winner 2007).- BALADA TRISTE FESTIVAL 2011600 hours managing a team of two to complete the largest Spanish short-film season to see light in Scotland; a two-film homage to Luis García Berlanga and the production of the incomparable Paper Portraits exhibition by Omar Arráez from Spain. The exhibition left six masterpieces in Scotland thanks to their acquisition by Edinburgh-based art curators. - SCOTLAND'S 1st CATALAN FILM FESTIVAL 2012Nine days of films around Edinburgh: the first Catalan Film Season that has been organized in Scotland to date. 600 hours of festival direction. - IBERODOCS 2014, 2015The first Spanish &Latin American documentary film festival to see light in Scotland. It was co-organised by the Latin America Solidarity Centre (Ireland) and CinemaAttic Productions CIC, and funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.It consisted of screenings from Latin America and Spain, seminars, workshops and roundtables organised in cooperation with local partners. The aim was to reflect on the urban epidermis of cities in Ireland and Latin America and to explore local grassroots initiatives which reconfigure public spaces for cultural, economic or social use.I was responsible of curating five documentary films which were to have a direct link with the given subject as well as coming from national films industries as diverse as Spanish, Uruguayan, Argentinian, and Irish. As a result of the project I could both maintain and enhance my professional bridge with institutions of the like of ICAU (Film Institute Uruguay), MEC (Ministry of Culture) Uruguay, KIMUAK, Basque Filmoteque, LASC Dublin and Trinity College Dublin. The series of events, including the film screenings, met full-house audiences in Ireland capital city Dublin. -
