This role has seen me develop my knowledge of the telecoms industry and the development of innovative civil designs. I use Smallworld PNI, FME and QGIS systems every day to manage asset and update designs alongside taking part in client and council meetings. Working as a laboratory technician in the soil lab required me to extract and analyse samples sent in from external sources. This role in the company was vital as any inaccuracies are then passed on for further analysis, so precision was vitally important.Key skills gained• COSHH awareness including handling asbestos and concentrated acids.• Manual handling training alongside Health & Safety at work training. • Working to daily targets and exceeding them whilst under pressure.• Teamwork was key when transferring between different sections of the lab where machinery needed two operators.
