AHV is the lead agency for Victoria’s Aboriginal housing and homelessness framework: Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort.I deliver a culturally-informed communications program for a variety of audiences, from our renters through to government stakeholders.

As part of my work in the community housing sector I have undertaken a number of exciting projects, all aimed at improving outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians. This includes:>HomesVic for Aboriginal VictoriansAs a Communications Officer for this project, I provided market research, content development, design work, promotion and communications. I also provided tailored information and support to participants to ensure they have the best experience possible.>More Than A LandlordMore Than A Landlord (MTAL) is a life coaching and wellbeing program that seeks to improve health, educational, vocational and overall wellbeing outcomes for renters of AHV. I have provided a communications and community engagement function for the project. This includes organising and promoting mid-large scale family events (up to 250 attendees), content development, graphic design, and producing the MTAL program newsletter Yarn Up.>AHV Communications-Journalism for the bi-monthly renter newsletter Mia Mia;-Management of the AHV website and social media platforms;-Content development for the Annual Report;-Speech writing.>AHV Community EngagementMy work in community engagement correlates with my communications role. Tasks have include:-Marketing, planning and logistical support for the annual AHV NAIDOC Family Day at the Farm, as well as Discussing Issues and Sharing Ideas: a series of community BBQs for renters.-Stakeholder liaison, project management and tenant support for AHV’s participation in the Cooling Communities home energy upgrade program, as well as the Latrobe Valley Home Energy Upgrade Program (LVHEUP).>Other projects-Production of 'Self-determination in Action' reflective films: a series of short videos to celebrate the transfer of 1448 property titles from the Victorian Government to AHV; a landmark moment in the movement for self-determination for Aboriginal Victorians.

I worked on a wide variety of community awareness and engagement projects, for clients including:>City of Port PhillipI was a journalist and proofreader for City of Port Phillip’s magazine Divercity, and also took photos as required.>Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU)I researched and developed strategies and content for the ACTU Worksite for Schools website and Facebook page, aimed at young students. I also project-managed the production and delivery of the ACTU National Union Directory.>Country Fire AuthorityI researched and wrote the Fire Safe Kids resource for schools for CFA’s flagship education program.>Western WaterI engaged in content development, marketing, school incursion bookings, client and presenter liaison, surveys, and KPI measurements for Western Water’s school engagement strategy.>South East Water I produced, marketed and presented professional development sessions to 15 schools in the South East Water region about how to use digital water meters for environmental, financial and classroom benefit.I also researched and wrote student/teacher resources that coincide with South East Water’s sewage treatment plant excursions, and also provided creative development advice.>Other projectsI assisted in marketing for school education programs, including producing reply-paid postcards for teacher excursion bookings, school flyers, display ads in magazines and promotion through school networks. I also undertook graphic design, market research, proofing and printing.I also developed media campaign strategies, including undertaking media release copywriting, approaching relevant contacts, media analysis, and mass email campaigns using MailChimp.
