Registered Nurse at UNC - Medical Center. Working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

I currently work as a Registered Pharmacy Technician. My responsibilities include patient intake and performing calculations and compounding of Sterile IV Compounds. I also complete drug inventory management, drug sterility and stabilization projects, and hospital/home patient deliveries.

During my time shadowing a Physical Therapist, I assisted in initial evaluation of injured patients, conducted rehab exercises, and developed patient relationships. I experienced multiple physical therapy modalities including: ultrasound, traction, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, heat and ice.My time observing enhanced my overall knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

During my time shadowing at North Carolina Center for Physical Therapy, I assisted in patient rehabilitation through ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, cupping therapy, heat, ice,and dry needling. I learned the value of developing patient relationships and thorough explanation of recovery procedures.

During my time shadowing a Physician Assistant, I assisted in patient intake, diagnosis, and treatment. I developed personal relationships with orthopedic patients and advanced my understanding of treatment operations and techniques.

During my time as a Laboratory Assistant I studied conformationally restricted protein kinase inhibitors. The goal of my research was to work with Suzuki reactions within the Nek family of protein kinases. I also examined the formation of of boronic acids. I spent time aiding UNC Postdocs in laboratory settings.
