- Closely monitor and manage the progress of shipyard, designers, and other service providers to ensure agreed detailed project plans are maintained and followed and delivery times are met. - Ensure well defined, structured and robust lines of communication and collaboration are established between design and engineering firms, shipyards, other project contractors, and suppliers.- Approve drawings and change orders the yard or subcontractor submits to owners. Negotiate on behalf of owners for best pricing. - Sourcing and purchasing components, equipment and materials to achieve better pricing - Ensuring adherence to appropriate health and safety legislation/standards and ensure the safety standards are maintained in the shipyard - Identifying the need for, and supervising, vessel repairs or alterations - Supervising Yard progress and quality of the ship construction with respect to all areas of new-build- Providing technical advice on new-builds and retrofits

- Utilize NAPA by Design to validate ship models accounting for lightship growth, modifications made during dry docks, compartment/tank corrections, and official loading conditions to ensure accurate and timely on-board stability adjustments.- Exercise meticulous oversight monitoring day-to-day stability for 43 vessels worldwide, saving millions of dollars in fuel and ensuring the ships are operating at their safest design conditions.- Direct senior ship’s officers to make immediate alterations to their loading conditions as required to improve stability and support fuel reduction in accordance with calculations done using NAPA.- Complete multiple Lightship assessments, inclining experiments and assisted on sea trials as well as act as a liaison between the ships, flag states and regulatory bodies. - Create and review stability information booklets, lightship reports, damage control booklets and plans, damage survivability reports, incident reports, structural drawings and ship mooring/towing optimization that would otherwise be contracted to third parties at an elevated cost to the company. - Manage ship dry dock projects with regards to weight assessments, structural modifications and safety and environmental compliances. - Maintain fleet compliance with Carnival Corporation ‘Health, Environmental, Safety & Security’ (HESS) protocol, Flag State, Classification, local and international regulations.- Visit all ships to review operating conditions and train ship’s deck officers with regards to stability, optimal loading conditions for fuel efficiency, On-Board NAPA and damage control to ensure ships are operating safely and efficientlyMarine Naval Architect | Marine ServicesHolland America Group | Serving Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, and P&O Australia
