I work as a Student Engineer at Bayside Council, and currently perform duties within the Asset Planning Team. In this team, I work alongside other engineers to develop 10 year plans for the renewal of Council assets, including roads, footpaths, stormwater networks and open space assets. This is done on a priority basis that involves the assessment of conditions and the allocation of financial budgets. I am also delivering Flood Advice Certificates to applicants which details the flood depths and hazards of properties using flood modelling software. I have previously worked in the Public Domain and Referrals Team. In this team I processed and finalised a variety of permits for applicants, which included road closures, mobile cranes and driveway designs. I also analysed development applications in regards to Council technical specifications for traffic, parking, stormwater management and flooding. The team environment at Bayside Council encourages me to work with colleagues together on complex issues and I consistently interact with the public on their requests and help solve issues they may have. In the future, I am looking to also gain experience within the Traffic and Road Safety Team.

As a sales assistant it was my responsibility to greet and serve customers, solve their problems, and leave customers satisfied with the product solutions I provided them. I helped perform start of day and end of day duties, which included counting cash, managing receipts and closing the store. Effective communication with customers was key to understanding their needs and delivering the right solution. I also facilitated E-commerce for the company, through Click and Collect and online orders. It was also my role to move stock into the store, maintain cleanliness, and also process transactions at the register. Team work was critical to the daily operations of the store, particularly when having to delegate tasks and ask questions from my colleagues.

I worked in the role of Human Resources Director, which involved the coordination of Project Consultants and Managers whilst they help solve problems for clients. This included hosting the Induction day for incoming Consultants and Managers, regular one-on-one check-ins, assisting with workshops and activities, and the organisation of social events.

As a project consultant I worked in a team of six to deliver a plan and solution to a future project for The Equanimity Project. Research into international and domestic comparisons, along with stakeholder analysis lead to the deliverable of a presentation and report to the client that outlined a high-level solution to the task.

I tutored classes of high school students in Science and Mathematics, including at an HSC level. Effective communication was key to my success as a tutor, allowing students to learn new content and develop their academic skills.
