Undergraduate Research Assistant
During my time in the lab, I focused much of my research on toxic intermediates in known metabolic pathways of cyanobacteria. My tasks included creating media to support growth of samples taken from Yellowstone National Park hot springs, preparing cultures along temperatures gradients, and literature research on toxic intermediates. My efforts resulted in writing a summary paper on cyanobacteria which included multiple novel research proposals addressing the possible buildup of toxic intermediates at high temperature levels.
Campaign Fellow
As a campaign fellow, I assisted senior staff with ongoing projects in nearly every department. Researching federal and state elections across the Midwest, updating data on field operations, and drafting news cycle memos, my position included individual work and team-based projects. I helped execute the campaign’s GOTV strategy as Election Day approached by advancing events for the state-wide DFL Bus Tour. I met with local activities and party officials before events, and helped prep Action Centers and college campuses to support events attended by state and federal candidates.
Field Organizer
As a field organizer, I helped develop and maintain a network of neighborhood and precinct captains to support the campaign. I handled volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination to build a strong coalition of local Democrats. Utilizing this network, I helped implement an aggressive field strategy focused on increasing voter turnout door-knocking and phone-banking.
