We have a well equipped wet lab where traditional methodology such as GC, HPLC, ICP-OES and other techniques are utilized as reference methods in development and maintenance of NIR calibrations. We also employ other imaging techniques utilized in compositional testing as well as providing on-site analysis where needed.Not only the data but expertise in test design and other factors are utilized in relationships within the industry to better align various hybrids and commercial products with end-use customers in the ethanol and food processing industries. As part of these efforts I am a board member of both the Iowa Biodiesel Board where I am also the treasurer and the Iowa Biotech Association where I am also vice chair. -

It should be noted that this job ended due to destruction of the facility by an accidental fire and the subsequent decision of ownership not to reopen this division.As Analytical Chemist my responsibilities included the analytical support of various laboratory and field studies under U.S. EPA-FIFRA guidelines. All of the work was performed as the Principal Analytical Investigator. In terms of instruments this work employed the use of GC/MS ~75% of the time with ~20% being performed on HPLC and the remainder being traditional GC (FPD, ECD, NPD).
