Senior Investment Manager. Performed as the team Chief Investment Officer, leading the investment committee and working in close partnership with internal specialists to deliver holistic investment solutions by identifying and establishing targeted investment strategies. Additionally, I communicated our research to clients. I ensured risk profiles, goals, objectives, and asset allocations were aligned and reflected properly. I provided senior-level expertise in a wide range of investment product areas and delivered a full range of products and services across the enterprise. I oversaw the preparation of and presented client performance review reports that measured progress towards goals. I served as a subject matter expert for all investment-related questions that came from clients. Further, I acted in the capacity of equity portfolio manager for approximately 100 client accounts providing model and custom investment strategies, both taxable and tax-aware.

I provided fundamental and quantitative investment research, investment consulting and investment management across numerous long-only equity strategies, both U.S. and non-U.S. In 2020, my average relative outperformance (versus respective benchmarks) across strategies was approximately 500 bps. I successfully designed, built, and licensed several proprietary equity investment models to a third-party institution for use in managing several strategies internally.

I managed the Global/International Equity Team for Nuveen Asset Management, the largest affiliate of NUVEEN, (with offices in Memphis, TN, Santa Barbara, CA and Minneapolis, MN).• Began as a Managing Director with Nuveen-Tradewinds leading the Memphis, TN office and as a portfolio manager on several equity strategies. Within one year, transitioned to Nuveen Asset Management and was promoted to Head of Global Equities. • Performed portfolio management for five equity strategies totaling approximately $1.5 Billion in AUM; strategies included international, emerging markets, global, and small-mid cap. • Directed the flagship international growth equity strategy, increasing from ~$500 million to over $1 billion in AUM. Outperformed the index by approximately 200 basis points per annum net of fees.• Successfully launched a new emerging markets equity mutual fund with a similar thematic philosophy as the lead portfolio manager and outperformed the index by over 800 basis points in the first year.• Led the design and build out of a proprietary international quantitative model covering 7,000+ stocks, which improved the efficiency of our work and the scalability of our team by approximately 30%.

At Sector, I was the key strategic leader of the investment committee, investment managed solutions, asset allocation, due-diligence, risk management, team development, and client education. • I began in a Senior Analyst position and was quickly promoted to portfolio manager, Chief Investment Officer, and ultimately to President and majority owner. • Turned firm around post 2008 financial crisis. Stopped asset losses, improved performance, introduced new products, and attracted the attention of several acquisition suitors. Ultimately negotiated and managed a successful merger of the Sector team into NUVEEN-Tradewinds. • Strengthened the firm’s wealth management practices and capabilities leading to asset growth from approximately $150 Million to over $1 Billion as the main investment arm of a regional trust company.
