The ANCs present their positions and recommendations on issues to various District government agencies, the Executive Branch, and the Council. They also present testimony to independent agencies, boards, and commissions, usually under the rules of procedure specific to those entities. By law, the ANCs may also present their positions to Federal agencies." http://anc.dc.gov/page/about-ancIn this position, I worked to:• Negotiate a $1 billion, 20-year campus plan between Georgetown University (the largest private employer in DC), Georgetown University MedStar Hospital, and the powerful local neighborhood associations as a Steering Committee member of the Georgetown Community Partnership• Analyze data pulled from the District and the University on traffic patterns, trash collection, and student sanctioning to develop policy proposals• Work with local law enforcement officials to improve safety measures in the neighborhood to increase traffic control officers, decrease congestion, and maximize the effectiveness of communication between the police and business community• Support the local elementary school by working with parents and teachers to advocate for increased funding in the city council budget
