I have worked within childhood and family development organizations which included developing care plans, working amongst an interdisciplinary team, enhancing psychosocial support for clients, having a firm understanding of community-based resources, applying family centred approaches, and developing conflict resolution skills. I am a proponent of ecological systems/strength based methods and anti-oppressive practices. I am passionate about working with clients to help enhance their ability to have better lifestyle outcomes. While working in healthcare, I have developed skills required for general duties and responsibilities of social work practice, built a comprehensive understanding of client barriers, developed clinical documentation techniques, learned how to conduct advanced psychosocial assessments, partook in resolving ethical dilemma’s, and became competent in system navigation. I have attended to various referrals such as, income assistance, sexual assault, child welfare, substance misuse, grief & loss, illness adjustment, and various other traumas. This range allowed me to further developed crisis intervention techniques, resource counselling, risk screening, advance clinical assessments, counselling, and much more. I am enthusiastic about trauma informed practices and multiple frameworks used within the social work setting. I am a passionate, hardworking, and caring individual who is excited about the possibility of having further employment to enhance the necessary skills and competencies to make a true difference for the clients I encounter in the future. My background in healthcare and childhood and family development has equipped me to be an asset in various roles!
