Born and raised on the beautiful Bahama Islands, since I can remember what once started off as a hobby turned into my deepest passion and love. Dance made me feel, made me move and made me breathe. I strongly believe if your passion is not what's driving you to succeed find another one.I am well experienced as an administrator, performing artists, education. I have held positions in the education system as a coach/choreographer/mentor, administered support for the School of Performing Arts at Holland College, peer support specialist/recruiter, assists artists in consultation and grant writing. Further, public speaking for organizations such as; Skills for Change, program coordinator for Harlem Dance Leadership program and worked under various marketing departments at The Bahamas Telecommunications Company in The Bahamas. An 2019 alumni from Holland College SOPA Program. I am currently continuing my dancing career as an independent artist,choreographer and educator in Charlottetown. Further taking part in Festivals and events such as; Diversecity Festival, Roma Festival, River Clyde Pageant, Stratford Fall Festival and Black Cultural Society. My art is to fuse cultural patterns together as one creating something beautiful and wishing to bring more excitement and diversity to the PEI. In 2020, during the midst of the pandemic I creating PEI first black performance company " Oshun Dance Studios". As the Artistic to nurture creativity and confidence among women, particularly women of color, of all ethnicities together to find empowerment and to access outlets for creative expression through dance.

Oshun Dance Studios mission is to bring young women artists of all ethnicities together to find empowerment, develop access outlets for creative expression through dance, to nurture creativity and confidence , particularly women of color, on the Island. Oshun's comprises primarily of artists of colour, who will be proudly claiming space, unleashing their talents and celebrating BIPOC artistry as it thrives on PEI. Also, celebrating the cultural arts traditions brings a refreshing Caribbean/West African Afro-beat musical style of flavor from one island to another.I was able to provide a platform in challenging myself artistically creating choreography but to also showcase the dance and musical talents of fellow emerging artists. I gained hands on experience, attention to detail shone as I met deadlines, coordinated artists, managed production logistics and media requests, writing grants, train emerging artists, and engage in promotional efforts. I had help, of course, from producers Megan Stewart (River Clyde Pageant), Tamara Steele (Black Cultural Society), and Grace Kimpinski and all the performers, musicians, and volunteers, but I created the plan and process, all while managing the people involved to keep everyone smiling and excited. It was a first of its kind in Charlottetown and was very well received and sold out, while occurring during COVID!Oshun teaches dance styles from ballet, jazz, calypso fusion, theatre, contemporary to all ages. Ms. Francois Brooks is also affiliated with Alvin Ailey, Joffrey School of Ballet and Schomburg Library in Harlem being an instructor and mentor to name a few. Dance is an amazing outlet for young kids and adults to nurture their gifts and to have a safe space to express themselves. As a Program Coordinator I assist in coordinating travel agency bookings, group rates, group meals, setup performances, costumes. Additionally, conducting research for projects, provide resources necessary for workshops ,facilitating programs, communicate and participate with suppliers, sponsors, funding and promotions.
