Reesa Artz is a bold leader, compassionate advocate, and dedicated professional whose career spans education, healthcare, and community engagement. A graduate of Duke University’s #1-ranked School of Nursing with Sigma Theta Tau honors, Reesa excelled as a First-Year/International Student Resident Advisor and Graduate Assistant for Duke University Union, where she oversaw innovative programming for thousands of students. Her six-plus years of professional experience in student affairs highlight her deep commitment to creating inclusive, dynamic spaces for connection and growth.Reesa also holds dual Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Performing Arts from Sweet Briar College, where she balanced academic excellence with leadership in student affairs and the arts. Post-graduation, she brought her talent for creating meaningful experiences to Walt Disney World, serving as a Merchandise & Attractions Intern with the Disney College Program, where she made magic for over 10,000 guests.Reesa’s clinical expertise includes a capstone in Duke University Health System’s Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, where she cared for the most vulnerable patients with precision and empathy. She is now pursuing a PhD in Indigenous and Rural Health Studies at Montana State University, specializing in Reproductive Policy and Sexual Education. Her research integrates traditional Indigenous knowledge to address health disparities and advance culturally relevant care for underserved communities.Beyond her academic and clinical pursuits, Reesa is the Chief Operating Officer for Body Positive Alliance, a global nonprofit advocating for inclusivity, and serves as a birth doula and childbirth educator.
