As a programme officer in the Child Rights Policy and Advocacy team at UNICEF PFP in Geneva, I worked with the Child Friendly Cities Initiative, UNICEF's global platform initiative to implement child rights at the local level in more than 3,500 cities and communities. My duties included leading our youth engagement work, knowledge management (such as collecting and developing tools and guidance), managing the Child Friendly Cities community of practice, communications and coordinating day-to-day work related to the initiative.I was a core member of the team organizing the first Child Friendly Cities Summit in Cologne, Germany, in October 2019. The Summit brought together more than 600 local leaders, mayors, technical experts, and children and young people to discuss how to make our growing cities more child-friendly. I was responsible for the participation of almost 70 children and young people from around the world in both the preparatory phase of the event as well as the Summit itself.Additionally, I support UNICEF's National Committees on their child and youth engagement work. In this role, I coordinated for example the consultations with 10,000 children and young people on the new EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child - the first time the EU has consulted children on a policy.

During my internship at the Advocacy and Innovative Partnerships team at UNICEF's headquarters in Geneva, my main project was the Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI), UNICEF's platform programme of implementing children's rights on the local level. I participated in organizing CFCI related events, coordinated the work between HQ and UNICEF's National Committees and Country Offices, conducted research on CFCI related subjects and developed internal communications about the initiative.

As a producer at Kaskas Media, my main project was Skolar Award, a 100.000 euro research grant for post-doc researchers organized in collaboration with startup event Slush. I planned, coordinated and created content for our site and social media channels, and was partly responsible for event production. Besides the Skolar Award, I created content (e.g. articles) for other projects as well.

As an intern at Kaskas Media I created content for different customers (mainly universities and research projects) for both online and in print, reaching from tweets to long feature articles. I also maintained Kaskas Media's social media presence. One of my main projects was content creation for Ratkaisu 100, a challenge for new social innovations, organized by Sitra.

At UniSport, the sports services for students and staff at the University of Helsinki, I worked at the customer service. Besides helping customers and making them feel welcome, I sold products and oversaw the safety and usability of the sports facilities.

As an intern at Eettisen kaupan puolesta, I worked mainly in communication: I wrote blog posts, co-wrote and edited reports and was responsible for our presence in social media. I also coordinated projects and planned and organized events.I developed my skills in event organization, project management and communication. I got a thorough introduction to the NGO sector, policy management and current issues regarding corporate responsibility.
