I have over 35 years of experience as a lighting designer in North America and the UK. I specialize in all aspects of lighting and audio for live concerts, high-profile weddings, large-scale galas, corporate and private parties, product launches, custom installations, and other special events. Operations and Production Management : I have over 25 years of formal experience as an Operations and Production Manager. I co-founded reFRACTion, one of the Bay Area's leading event lighting and audio design companies, and operated the business with great success for 14 years. This culminated in the sale of the company in 2013 to competitor Got Light. I joined the Got Light team as Technical Operations Manager. I also manged the Fabrication Department, where we created stunning backdrops and overhead pieces.Database Management : I’m a seasoned Inventory Database Administrator, having built and managed inventory databases of over thousands of non-serialized items, millions of serial numbers, and thousands of kits or containers that also include multiple warehouse and business locations. Some systems handle and track more than 1M serialized pieces per day. My database management experience also includes sales quoting and integration to accounting software such as ACCPAC, Quickbooks, & Peachtree. I am also familiar with RFID, Barcoding, and system integration with FileMaker, MySQL, Oracle, etc.Pre-vis and advanced lighting technology : I helped create one of the only mobile 3D viz lighting studios of its size in the world (at the time) and I have been a leader in sustainable event lighting for over a decade. My expertise in custom LED technology allows for flexibility in every project I work on. Custom Fabrication :I also design and fabricate custom hanging light fixtures and serve as a lighting consultant on large-scale art installations and sculptures. Teaching :I earned my two-year Teaching Certificate in the State of California for Concert and Theatrical Lighting and Sound in Post-Secondary Schools in 1999. Following which, I taught Lighting Design courses in the Sound Arts program at Ex’pression College in Emeryville, California.*Now called SAE*
