About Reg Cobb

Very creative and pro-active individual with a great passion to get the best out of other people, particularly people with disabilities. I work hard and enjoy good challenges, both in the work place and physical activities, including ultra running, triathlon and various fundraising challenges.Since 1991, I have worked with disabled people, deaf people, people with mental health issues and employers to solve accessibility issues. In April 2013 I set up Reg Cobb Consultancy, a creative and pro-active access consultancy service working with clients to ensure the environment is more accessible. In 2004, I worked for Kensington & Chelsea College, managing support services for students with disabilities and mental health. During that time, we grew our number and funding by 100%, £250k to £500k.In 2012, after I moved to Gloucestershire, I started working for GDA, a deaf charity in Gloucester and managed various projects supporting deaf people, gaining fund to sustain the charity. My mission is to improve the life chances of people with disabilities and deaf people. Exposing their abilities and not their disabilities and giving them a greater access to support UK's workforce and social activities. My role is to mediate between organisations and to provide examples of best practice when working with disabled people.Having trained and worked as a Building Surveyor, I have extensive knowledge of access issues, identifying possible problem areas and recommends achievable solutions.Additionally I have a wide range of experience of everyday working environments, including Central Government Departments, Further Education, Universities and private sector companies. I can provide a broad range of services, but not limited to:Project managementCreative and pro-active solutionsGuidance on impact assessmentsCost effective ideas to ensure an inclusive environmentDeaf and Deaf/Blind Awareness TrainingAccess requirements for planning and building
