Worked with reporters and photographer on local news and sports coverage for a small city daily newspaper, slotted and edited content for centrally produced print pages. Updated website and generated daily newsletters. Adapted to and used a variety of content management systems for print edition, website and newsletter curation production over the years, including NewsGate and Blox most recently. Part of a news team that punched well above its weight on print subscriptions, digital subscriptions and web traffic. During my tenure, the Peterborough Examiner produced reporters who went on to gigs with The Globe and Mail, The Canadian Press, Toronto Sun, Hamilton Spectator, London Free Press, Windsor Star, the CBC -- and even a freelancer in Paris, France, let alone those who have gone on to numerous communications gigs such as with municipalities and school boards. During my tenure, the Peterborough Examiner website was normally in the Top 5 or 6 for website page views among all of Torstar's news sites and many days would be around third or fourth. The Examiner maintained thousands of households as paid print home delivery subscribers every day during my time there and in the last few years we also attracted thousands of new paid digital-only subscribers. Played a key role in driving The Examiner's X/Twitter followers from 0 at the start of the account in 2009 to more than 26,000, with similar results on Facebook.
