Led a division of 33 staff members, including 3 subordinate managers, and managed a budget of $13M+. The Security and Business Recovery Division managed the risk and overall operations of IT Security for the county’s primary and alternate data centers, which house over 80% of the county’s critical data, and thousands of servers, desktops and laptop devices; consulted with other county departments on IT security matters; monitored the security health of devices and data within the county’s network; reported to County Supervisors, county CIO and CISO, and county executive management on security matters; responded to security incidents and breaches, and worked with local law enforcement on such cases; managed vendor contracts; oversaw compliance matters; provided reports and presentations on current security status and performance measures.

Managed the daily operations of staff responsible for recommending and implementing security procedures, technical solutions, and handling incident response for the County's primary network.

Managed Internet web application development projects and worked with various customer departments to implement new applications in support of eGovernment readiness. Had oversight of development projects using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, with Visual Basic, Java, Cold Fusion, and HTML programming languages.

Founded a web application development and training company that serviced national and international customers, with annual revenues over $2M. Managed company's budget, established vendor and client relationships, managed and negotiated company contracts, and established the company's operating policies, business plan, and business strategy.
