While closing in on two decades of US Army aviation experience and a couple thousand hours of flying in some very interesting places, I’ve learned a few things along the way. It takes a lot more than just a few rotor blades perfectly tracked and balanced to keep an aircraft and it’s mission in the air. As a UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot and a LUH/EC-145 Functional Test Pilot, you come to appreciate the size and scope of the logistics train that it takes to meet the demands of current operations. While not in uniform flying these aircraft myself, I have the honor of working inside the Program Executive Office of Army Aviation as a Logistics Analyst. I’m responsible for keeping US Army aircraft on mission and in the air. Not only do we support today’s missions, but our team works on building solutions for tomorrow’s aviators as well. Working with broad-reaching logistics teams, we are responsible for publications, provisioning, parts, prototypes, fielding, and obsolescence of all US Army Aircraft material. As if flying helicopters and airplanes were not enough, I’ve decided to augment my aviation and logistics experience with an MS Management Science - Business Analytics. With my never-ending quest for knowledge, wisdom, and exploration, I’ve decided to take a deep dive into the mountains of data that are created by these programs. As a candidate for the MSMS-BA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, I plan to leverage this education to help find meaningful patterns in relevant data, make better decisions, and support our team in securing a competitive advantage in readiness. Data is the new oil in the digital era. Having the ability to mine and analyze data, design experiments, apply statistical methods, and design solutions to business programs will be critical to success going forward.The adventure of flying and the excitement of what big data can bring... Tomorrow's logistics have never been more promising.One last thing to mention. I’m a super big fan of SpaceX and all things space exploration. If anyone knows Elon Musk and he happens to need an astronaut, I know a guy.
