In my role as Director, Service Delivery, I was privileged to lead and oversee the management and performance of services provided by the Winnipeg Airport Services (WASCO) and Bouygues Canada joint venture partnership (ByWA) to Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA). Reporting directly to the Managing Director of WASCO and the Executive Committee of ByWA, I was responsible for the overall provision of janitorial services at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport and the oversight of the Airport Operations Support Services contract that included the airport operation and baggage centers as well as the pass office.

I was responsible for overseeing the custodial program for fourteen commercial properties in the Canadian prairies, excluding Southern Alberta. It was a pleasure working with a dynamic and talented team of unit managers and employees, all dedicated to meeting and exceeding client expectations and corporate financial and operational goals. Highlights included transforming the budgetary process from being centrally controlled to one that provided ownership, by empowering unit managers to be responsible for developing and managing their budgets, and holding them accountable for the results.

As Regional Manager I oversaw the management and day to day operation of cleaning services for 60+ retail and commercial facilities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and north-western Ontario for a family owned company whose owner had built a national organization from small beginnings and whose experience and expertise was willingly shared. It allowed me to learn and grow and resulted in me being recognized as Employee of the Year for Western Canada for consistently meeting or exceeding company and client expectations.

An adventure never to be forgotten! From purchasing, setting up, transforming and ultimately housing a Health Canada certified world-wide natural health product distribution and call center and a local coffee roasting company under the same roof, to creating a startup company tasked with introducing new single serve coffee machines and soft coffee pods to the Canadian market. All resulting in a reduction in monthly costs and a 90% drop in customer complaints within the first year.

After having spent a number of years managing airports my role as Senior Director of Operations brought me to head office, where I assisted in the transition of three international airports as they were being privatized. I also oversaw numerous international and national airport teams, ensuring safety and operational standards were met, efficiencies were gained through process improvements, and contractual requirements were achieved.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

As Managing Director I was responsible for the day to day operation of the Puerto Plata Airport including the development of annual business plans and budgets that supported long-term plans and strategies, achieving profitability from its inception. It also included managing multi-million dollar capital plans and providing leadership and team-building skills to a passionate and hard working group of employees. Concession, tenant, food and beverage and other contracts and agreements were also negotiated resulting in increased productivity and profitability. I also participated in various industry organizations, resulting in increased local and international exposure and higher passenger volumes and therefore revenues.
