My primary tasks revolve around circulation ­ checking materials in and out,assisting patrons in finding materials, occasional shelving, and basic customerservice. I also catalog periodicals, teach iPad workshops, assist in somechildren's programming, and answer reference questions as necessary.

This internship was conducted within the Youth Services department of BPL, witha special focus on the young adult age group. Most time was spent on the YSreference desk assisting children and families in finding materials, answering lightreference questions, and performing readers' advisory. Some time was alsospent on the adult reference desk. Main projects revolved around YAprogramming, including teaching a video creation and editing workshop, aswell as planning the end-of-summer party.
