I lead the Firm’s New York City office and advise clients in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and special needs planning. In addition, I represent clients in probate matters, kinship hearings, accountings, estate and trust administration, guardianship, and estate litigation. I:• Prepare estate planning documents (from basic to complex), including, but not limited to: Wills, various Trusts (e.g.: Revocable, Irrevocable, Life Insurance, Charitable, and/or Personal Residence), and Advance Directives;• Counsel fiduciaries (e.g.: executors, administrators, guardians) on the administration and taxation of their estates;• Advise trustees and trust beneficiaries on the administration and taxation of trusts;• Represent family members in kinship proceedings to prove their right to inherit property;• Advise individuals on elder law issues, including reviewing existing care plans and long-term care insurance policies, and assesses possibility of Medicaid planning (community and institutional); • Represent individuals in contested and uncontested guardianship proceedings;• Advise disabled individuals and their family members on special needs planning; • Negotiate with NYC Human Resources Administration to reduce or eliminate various “Medicaid claims” and;• Represent individuals in estate and trust litigation, including contested accountings.

Participate in all aspects of estate, tax, and gift planning, estate and trust administration, estate litigation (including contested accountings), elder law, long-term care planning, guardianship (including contested guardianship proceedings), Medicaid planning, and special needs planning (including working with parents of disabled children). Maintain extensive client contact. Counsel individuals and families on succession planning. Prepare wills, trusts (for family planning, tax planning, and special needs planning), and advance directives to facilitate clients’ tax objectives and long-term needs. Present seminars on trusts and estate and elder law topics. Administer estates from inception through final distribution, including preparation of estate tax returns. Prepare tax refund claims and participate in IRS audits. Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid practice, rules and regulations. General litigation experience - appearances at administrative fair hearings and before Supreme and Surrogate’s courts. • Authored “But-Officer-My Transfer was Not for Medicaid Purposes!” published Elder Law Special Needs Law Journal (Spring 2012)• Co-authored “America’s Long Term Care Crisis” published in Trusts and Estates magazine (July 2013)• Co-authored “District Court Judge Issues Temporary Stay of DOL’s Modified Definition of “Companionship Services” published in Wage and Hour Defense Blog (January 2015)

Participate in all aspects of elder law, estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, estate litigation, guardianship, and special needs planning. Ongoing responsibilities include: identifying clients' needs, proposing customized tax and estate planning solutions, preparing and executing various Wills and Trusts, reviewing Advanced Directives and Deed transfers forms, and attending real estate closings. Prepare Estate Tax returns and accountings. Negotiate “Spousal Refusal” claims. Research updates to ensure legal compliance. Liaise with multitude of legal, financial, and government entities to effectuate necessary transfers. Prepare motions and attend related proceedings in New York City’s Supreme and Surrogates Courts.

Received extensive training on Corporate, Tax, and Estate planning strategies. Researched and analyzed case law, statutes, Internal Revenue Code, and Regulations to provide estate, gift, and tax planning to individual and corporate clients. Prepared Estate and Personal Income Tax Returns. Created Guardianship Accounting using "FAS." Drafted memoranda and petitions related to testamentary capacity, fraudulently procured waivers of process, removal of preliminary executor, and fixing legal fees. Drafted Honorary Pet Trusts. Researched individual creditor's rights in case of bank insolvency. Researched shareholder liability and veil piercing. Amended By-Laws for "Type B, Not-for-Profit Corporation." Prepared and filed motions and Probate Petitions in New York County and Kings County Surrogates Court. Performed extensive research for the Firm's Appellate Practice. Attended depositions, hearings, and conferences.

Competitively selected to work in the Appeals Division. Researched and drafted appellate briefs in civil litigation and juvenile delinquency matters. Received extensive training in appellate practice under the supervision of experienced appellate practitioners. Observed oral arguments in State and Federal Courts. Cited as “Law Student on Brief” in the issued Decisions and Orders.

Conducted legal research and analysis of immigration law and regulations pertaining to visa matters. Drafted Responses to Requests for Evidence, Notice of Findings, Motion to Reopen and Appeal denial of H-1B Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker. Drafted O-1 Nonimmigrant Visa Petitions for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability. Drafted applications and petitions for numerous nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters.
