Responsible for managing the process of licensing of professional clubs in Ireland, for both UEFA and domestic competition. This included implementation of the UEFA Club Licensing & Financial Fair Play Regulations.In 2011, I was a guest lecturer at Neuchatel University, Switzerland, to students of the FIFA Masters Programme. This is a postgraduate programme for executives, delivered across three prestigious Universities in Neuchatel, De Montfort and SDA Bocconi.My role involved:• Coordinating the activities of all stakeholders including football club personnel, criteria experts (engineers, auditors, medical experts, legal experts), UEFA, the FAI Executive & FAI Board.• Undertaking financial analysis on a monthly and annual basis and performing financial benchmarking of club accounts.• Ensuring compliance throughout the process with National law and UEFA regulations.• Ensuring that the project deadlines were met.• Ensuring that the project remained within budget.• Identifying potential project risks and proposing appropriate mitigation techniques / responses. • Managing changes to the project and processes. • Using a project management tool (Rational Plan) to manage deadlines, resources, finances and for identifying project issues and risks

Self employed computer consultant, mainly in retail. Developed & maintained software on UNIX platforms in COBOL and INFORMIX 4GL & INFORMIX SQL.My role involved:• Analysing the client’s business requirements and proposing solutions;• Coordinating the requirements of the various business units within the retailer;• Assessing the requirements of the business units and proposing solutions • Developing the solutions using a variety of UNIX and other software tools.• Developing and maintaining software systems for point of sale, stock control, accounts, and merchandising;• Providing technical support in Head Office, and to the network of stores in Ireland and the U.K. in Point of Sale and stock control systems;• Reporting to Board of Management;

As software development manager, I managed a team of 15 Software Developers.The team developed and supported business systems software, written in C and Micro Focus COBOL on a number of UNIX platforms. The core software package (UNIGEM) was tailored for individual customers.My role involved :• Meeting with customers to discuss their requirements;• Analysing these requirements, validating them and assessing the solution;• Translating the requirements and proposed solution into an appropriate software requirements specification;• Liaising with the development team to ensure the correct solution was deliveredPrior to my promotion to Software Development Manager, I acted as a systems analyst, which involved liaising with customers to determine their needs, and designing appropriate solutions.
