Research Intern at the remote internship with the Cyberinfrastructure (CI) Research 4 Social Change Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) by the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC)The program focused on an umbrella topic of COVID-19. My project focused on natural language processing (NLP) with COVID-19 related news articles in Guam. The focus of the project was on the learning and applying of methods on analyzing unstructured qualitative data or fine text. As a graphic designer at 17 Minute Photo, I worked with • Creating and customizing customer orders for items such as: portraits, invitations, or prints• Editing school portraits or studio portraits• Sizing and printing portraits out for customers

As an upper-division Mathematics course, I had the opportunity to work under the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) PIC Math program which prepares students under the mathematical sciences for industrial careers through research. This project consisted of • working alongside engineers from the Guam Waterworks Authority • studying problem sites in which low water pressure occurs in the island of Guam• analyzing contributing factors and suggesting possible solutions

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) National Research Experience for Undergraduate Program (NREUP) program gave me an opportunity to work on a research project in relation to disease transmission and game theory.• Studied mathematical modeling and ordinary differential equations (ODE's) with respect to the transmission to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)• Applied Game Theory to determine best possible preventive strategy in the case of an outbreak• Presented at the UOG CNAS Math & Computer Science 2019 Student Colloquium Series and the 2020 Joint Mathematics Meeting (2020)
