Bevy offers an integrated platform to maintain, scale, or launch a community.I currently serve as the lead engineer for the "Order Flow Rewrite" project: a complete rebuilding of the multidimensional Bevy-ticket-registration solution. Perhaps most notably, I helped leverage Redis to dramatically enhance performance (scaling from hundreds of users to ten of thousands of users!). I also liaise with product and leadership, and I oversee agile sprint ceremonies for a small, nimble, talented group of engineers.

I created tools and applications to increase company efficiencies. Apps include a web-driver to automate reports (built with Ruby and Selenium, deployed on an AWS server) and a "ParseMachine" to parse and modify Excel spreadsheets (Ruby).

I designed and implemented courses for the summer, winter, and spring terms. I presented lectures and facilitated seminar-style discussions; created and graded term papers and exams (written and aural); and managed online course materials. I worked with and evaluated approximately 10-35 students per term. Courses included: a graduate-level survey, Music in the Baroque Era (Eastman, Summer 2014 and Spring 2015), and a sophomore-level survey, History of Western Music to 1600 (University of Rochester, Fall 2014).

I designed and taught courses for non-musicians at Oasis, a national service organization, which offers learning experiences for adults age 50 and over. Courses included: "Music as Extra-musical," which examined music that captures “extra-musical” concepts, such the “literary” chansons of Clément Janequin, pastoral-themed music by Vivaldi, and musical reactions to industrial modernity in the early twentieth century. “Sound and Place”, which explored the ever-meaningful dialogue between sound and place, during five different musico-historical moments: medieval Paris, Venice in the seventeenth century, London in the eighteenth century, Wagner’s Bayreuth, and Soviet Russia. “How to Enrage the King and Other Stories about the Life and Work of Handel," which focused on Handel’s biography and operatic output, especially Handel’s late work Orlando.

Supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), this large-scale project digitized thousands of rare public domain scores and texts held at the Sibley Music Library, the largest academic music library in America.As a project assistant, I helped to scan scores with Adobe Acrobat, edit and remove imperfections on scans with Adobe Photoshop, enter detailed information about scores into the Sibley database (Microsoft Access), and prepare scores for scanning and storage in the Sibley bindery. digitalscores.wordpress.com/about/
