Synthesis of rare earth Lanthanide materials, examine their morphological properties and correlate this with their cubic-hexagonal phase transition and photoluminescent properties for the time variant system. Our work consisted of 2 groups of Lanthanide nanoparticles, NaGdF4 which was the control group because it only has one crystal phase and NaYF4 which we discovered undergoes a phase transition which interferes with XRD imaging results and causes subsequent photoluminescent changes over a range of different morphologies.

My work consisted of helping Phd student Shehan Khan with his research project. The research project consisted of ammonia fuel blending research where the idea is to blend ammonia into gasoline and ignite it in a Dynamo recording it's energy yield. My work was mostly providing technical help with welding (fixing ammonia tanks, welding pneumatic lines, etc.) and helping the highschool research student finish his research project. During this time, Dr. Maxwells parent company Electrogen Hydrofuels LLC needed capital financing for their novel ammonia engine. I provided business assistance by going around the area attempting to find prospective investors who might potentially finance the project.
