Via strategic communications and formal USMC training, USNA Marines seek to recruit, select, and train highly qualified midshipmen for service as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps. The final result desired is to commission Marine Second Lieutenants who are prepared for the rigors of The Basic School and service as Marine officers. Marine Corps officers and staff noncommissioned officers are fully integrated into all aspects of midshipman training, education and development by serving as course instructors, company officers and senior enlisted leaders, as well as club/sports coaches and team representatives, summer training facilitators, and Marine company mentor.
