Key responsibilities:The main purpose of this position was to support the Nordex Quality Manager in assuring all aspects of quality of the concrete tower supplier’s work of producing structural precast concrete tower segments for the various Wind farms namely Nxuba wind farm in Eastern Cape also Garob and Copperton wind farms in Northern Cape. I was in charge to ensure the Nordex quality standards are defined.Functions and Duties Performed- To audit all the concrete tower supplier’s production processes to ensure that the supplier fulfils the quality and technical specifications of the contract, including but not limited to :* Raw materials receipt * Reinforcement assembly inspections* Concrete and raw material testing* Cast-in Inserts pre and post mould closure* Concrete batching and concreting operation* Post – concreting operations and concrete repairs* Dimensional measurements of concrete tower segments* Cover inspection in the concrete segments* Records related to quality- Conduct a final validation of the keystone using a final inspection checklist.- Report deviations and non – conformances to the Quality Manager, and decide oncorrective action in consultation with the Quality Manager.- Maintain all quality documentation as per Nordex’s Integrated Quality ManagementSystem on a daily basis:*Support the Quality Documents Manager in ensuring timeous submission of quality documentation by the concrete tower supplier and maintaining of the document filling system* Review the concrete tower supplier’s quality documentation and report deviations.* Complete Nordex Final Inspection quality documentation and report deviations and ensurecorrective action is taken by supplier.

Perform quality control checks.About quality checks, I had to make sure that the contractor is practicing the operations according to the protocols. Closure is correctly done to allow traffic to pass through. Warning signs and arrows are placed accordingly. Milling the required depth levels of 20mm on specified areas as per designspecifications of the project. The contractor is booking the correct quantity measurements for claims. The work is being done on the period agreed to as per on the regulations on thetender documents.(daily time slot)
