In conjunction with a senior technical expert at Tetratech International and various in-country stakeholders in Zimbabwe, explored the possibility of upscaling domestic biogas systems in Zimbabwe by conducting an assessment. Specifically, responsible for conducting a feasibility study for scaling potential and impact of biogas and conducting and in-depth research and analysis on the types of biogas interventions, adoption of biogas solutions, affordability of the biogas solutions, challenges and opportunities to scale such interventions.

Responsible for coordinating the GOGLA-POWER UP! program for Zimbabwe on behalf of theRenewable Energy Association of Zimbabwe (REAZ). The work was a follow up to the Africa Clean Energy Technical Assistance Facility (ACE TAF) which was implemented between September 2019 and June 2021. The short-term assignment was focused on concluding adoption of IEC standards on solar home systems (IEC 62257-9-5 and IEC 62257-9-8).

Led the in-country coordination and implementation of the Africa Clean Energy Technical Assistance Facility (ACE-TAF) for Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The program focused on three main objectives which were 1. Enhancing Coordination across renewable energy sector stakeholders 2. Improving the enabling environment for private sector delivery of access to energy through stand-alone solar systems. 3. Increasing knowledge and evidence on the success factors for private delivery of off-grid solar energy across Africa.

Led in lobbying governments and their entities in advancing the enabling environment and this included working with national governments in developing modern renewable energy policies, specifically in Zimbabwe and Malawi. Also led management of civil society partner grants, overseeing financial and narrative reports for 10 partners (5 Malawi and 5 Zimbabwe), focusing on climate change, renewable and inclusive energy under the Green and Inclusive Energy Program. Represented the organization in various regional and international platforms like, SADC Cooperating Partners, SEforALL, COP meetings among others.

● Engaged and mobilized communities, local authorities and other relevant government entities like Rural Electrification Agencies(REA) in the construction of 15 Micro Hydro Schemes in Malawi (3-Mulanje District), Mozambique (6 –Manica District) and Zimbabwe (6- Manicaland Province) under the Regional Micro Hydro Project (Catalyzing Modern Energy Access for Isolated Communities in Southern Africa) supported by European Union Energy Facility (EU-Energy Facility).● Under the Rural Sustainable Energy for Development (RUSED) project, coordinated and engaged with the ministries of energy, REAs and communities, in the construction of a micro-hydro plant and solar powered irrigation schemes in Malawi (Nsanje and Chikwawa Districts) and Zimbabwe(Mutare, Gwanda and Gutu Districts) for irrigation to increase agriculture productivity supported by European Union Energy Facility (EU-Energy Facility).● Formed a team that designed capacity building strategies for energy planning targeted towards local authorities, communities and rural electrification. agencies in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe under the E-Mindset program (Energizing the Millennium Development Goals Program) funded by the European Union Energy Facility (EU-Energy Facility). ● Developed the strategic and implementation plan to foster increased awareness of the relevance of energy access in Southern Africa including SADC Infrastructure Department.● Coordinated Monitoring and Evaluation of the Infrastructure department which included Energy Access Program, Water and Sanitation and Housing. ● Coordinated external monitoring and evaluation for the EU Energy Facility funded projects (Result Oriented Monitoring-ROM). This was done in conjunction with EU assigned consultancy firms. ● Developed and maintained partnerships, with donors and government sectors e.g., UNDP, HIVOS, Department of Renewable Energy (Ministry of Energy and Power Development), EU.
