MOCAH is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) cultural arts organization with a mission to use art and creativity as tools for social awareness, educational enrichment and community development. Since its inception in 1999, MOCAH has directly served over 25,000 at-risk underserved Houston youth. Over the past 13 years MOCAH has participated in the development, coordination, design, production and installation of over 170 public art projects throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area. Our programs have operated in more than 40 public/private schools; along with community groups and service organizations throughout the city and abroad. Collectively, our public art projects are viewed by more than 12 million people annually. MOCAH has invested more than $3MM in community art projects and civic art commissions, providing over 90 professional and emerging artists with employment opportunities. Beyond the act of beautifying some of Houston’s more blighted and underserved neighborhoods MOCAH is transforming some of Houston’s oldest communities into cultural and artistic destinations.

• Charter board member of LARA, whose purpose included, without limitation, the acquisition, assemblage, management, marketing, development and disposition of properties that have been acquired by taxing authorities through foreclosure of delinquent ad valorem taxes, including the redevelopment of such properties.• Directed the organization in the acquisition of over 1,200 chronically tax delinquent properties in Houston's most historic and blighted communities.• Formulated policy and procedure to transfer and sale properties to community development corporations and affordable housing developers.• Oversaw the construction of more than 400 affordable homes in urban communities across Houston.• As President I oversaw the organization from $0 startup to more than $14 million in revenues within a 7 year period.
