Life’s Digital Bits is a minority and woman-owned microenterprises that specializes in technology support and training for women. I provide online and live training to clients on various digital skills and topics. I also provide expert IT guidance and consultation with clients on technology purchases. In the past, I have developed and maintained websites for small not-for-profit organizations and provided ad-hoc hardware and software support for clients with PCs and Android based smartphones. As a solopreneur, I handle all aspects of the business on the administration and client-facing sides.

As the school's first Computer Science teacher, I launched the AP Computer Science Principles course; redesigned the 9th grade Intro to Computers course to have a computer science focus; developed the Business Technologies course which teaches the basics of entrepreneurship through the use of business productivity software, web development, and app programming; and developed an Intro to CS course as preparation for AP CSP.Served as the school’s Director of Technology and EdTech coach. Managed all the school’s technology hardware and software, including computer equipment, interactive display boards, and Microsoft, Google, and Adobe software management. This also included digital educational interactions such as remote learning, digital AP assessments, and Catholic Virtual online school. Implemented two education management systems (Blackbaud and Rediker) as well as managed and provided training to faculty and staff on them. Provided training to students, parents, and employees on the school’s various software and systems. Managed the technological inventory with purchases from various vendors including NYCDOE FAMIS. Also, worked closely with the school’s Director of Finance to manage the school’s technology budget and purchases.

Technology courses offered by the programs included Kids Animation using Adobe Animate, Coding with Scratch levels 1 & 2, courses in the individual Microsoft Office applications, and various fundamental to advanced level technology workshops. I also managed courses leading to Microsoft Office Specialist, Comp TIA, and Cisco Networking Academy certifications.In managing the programs, I recruited, hired, supervised, and evaluated faculty as well as marketed, recruited, and advised current and potential students of courses.

As the school librarian, I reinstituted the school’s library which had not been used for numerous years. This included relocating the library from the basement to the first floor, developing a tracking system for loaning books, creating a Microsoft Access database for implementing the system as well as for searching for books, and analyzing the needs of the school for discarding old books and purchasing new ones. In addition I provided Information Literacy instruction to students in the 6th and 7th grade, and organized and marketed themed library days.

I worked with the clubhouse’s Educational Director to transform their computer offerings into the clubhouse’s very first Technology Center Program. The program included training curriculums for teaching young men aged six to twenty in computer hardware, software and web design. I was responsible for maintaining the computers in the lab including software updates, hardware upgrades, purchasing of equipment, and inventory. I also provided training and technical support to staff in other departments of the clubhouse.

I was responsible for coordinating the tutoring of the students in the SEEK program by matching students with tutors by subject and level, recruiting new tutors, and reporting progress and attendance to Student Counselors. In addition, I supervised a staff of twenty-five tutors overseeing their attendance and paperwork and escalating major problems to the Center Director. To facilitate the management of the tutoring, I also developed an Access database to coordinate the tutoring schedules of the students and tutors. As a Computer Technician, I would assist the students in using the lab's computers as well as troubleshot and solved a variety of hardware and software problems.

I provided instruction in Microsoft Office to kids ages 8-12 in the community centers of several NYCHA housing complexes. I also performed computer equipment troubleshooting and repair as well as provided informal technology help to NYCHA staff and the children's parents.
