About Regional Studies Association
Welcome to the global and interdisciplinary forum for city and regional research, development, and policy. The Regional Studies Association is a learned society concerned with the analysis of regions and regional issues. Through our international membership we provide an authoritative voice of, and networking opportunities for, academics, students, practitioners and policy makers.We work with our members to facilitate the highest standards of theoretical development, empirical analysis and policy debate of issues at the sub-national scale, incorporating the urban, rural, city-regions and borders. Our interests include economic development and growth, conceptions of territory and governance, equity and injustice.Our journals, eZine, blog and books, along with our global-to-local series of webinars, conferences and events position us as a key forum in shaping and disseminating advances in regional studies and science. Members are multidisciplinary, coming from economics, geography, urban studies, political science, planning and sociology backgrounds. Most work in academia but many are work in policy and practice, and our membership is truly international.
