I am thrilled to join Iowa State University as an assistant professor of Computer Science in August 2024.My research focuses on virtual and augmented reality interfaces and the user experience in immersive interactive systems. Specifically, I specialize in the design and evaluation of virtual and augmented reality (extended reality – XR) systems, with expertise in interaction design and modeling, simulation, virtual human interaction, and real-world applications of XR technology in areas such as public safety, architecture, and arts and humanities.I have been honored with awards such as the Best Paper Award in the IEEE Symposium in 3D User Interfaces and the IEEE 3D User Interfaces Grand Prize. More recently, I have expanded my research to explore the potential of immersive technology to provide equitable, sustainable, and accessible healthcare to diverse populations. I am committed to developing innovative solutions that can have a global impact and enhance people's lives.My research has been supported by prestigious organizations including the Department of Defense (DoD), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).I am currently recruiting exceptional PhD students to join my research team.
