With a diverse background spanning both academia and industry, I am passionate about shaping the future of work through empowering human capital, education, technology, and a commitment to health and safety. My 17 year journey (and counting!) as an HR professional, educator, tech leader, and content creator is driven by a shared passion for making a positive impact in the world. Whether shaping organizational culture, empowering students, or connecting with viewers online, I am dedicated to fostering environments where individuals can thrive, innovate, and contribute to a safer, brighter future. As the Innovation & Technology Lead for Made Safe, and as an instructor at both the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology, I have the privilege of imparting knowledge and practical skills to the next generation of professionals.At Made Safe, a commitment to safety is paramount, and I leverage my expertise in both HR and technology to enhance learning experiences for our member companies. Through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and the development of innovative solutions, I ensure that Made Safe remains at the forefront of our industry. My experience as the Innovation and Technology Lead also informs my approach as an educator as well, where I draw upon real-world examples and hands-on experiences to enrich the learning journey of my students. At the University of Manitoba, I engage students in exploring the dynamic intersection of HR, technology, and organizational behavior. Through interactive lectures and real-world case studies, I inspire students to think critically, innovate boldly, and embrace emerging technologies shaping the HR landscape.Simultaneously, at the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology, I facilitate hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between theory and practice. While teaching courses that align with all facets of HR, I empower students with the tools and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen fields.My role as an instructor extends beyond the classroom, as I am deeply committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. I leverage my industry experience and tech expertise to ensure that curriculum remains relevant, responsive to industry trends, and aligned with evolving best practices.In all facets of my work—as an HR generalist, tech enthusiast, content creator, health & safety advocate, and educator—I am driven by a shared vision of creating inclusive, forward-thinking workplaces where every individual can thrive.

    I have the thrilling opportunity to indulge my inner nerd daily! I may have 17 years of cumulative HR experience, but I’ve spent a lifetime being a tech enthusiast! I get to embrace that by staying on top of tech trends while leveraging my HR experience to drive meaningful change in workplace safety.I get to dive headfirst into the world of technology, exploring everything from drones to AI, to help not only our member companies drive efficiencies in safety through technology, but to benefit CME as a whole. It doesn't stop there. I also get to flex my HR muscles, serving as the go-to person for recruitment and consulting with our management on various HR issues. Whether I'm sourcing top talent to join our team or providing guidance on employee relations, I'm using my HR expertise to ensure that Made Safe remains a great place to work.And let's not forget about the creative side of things. As a budding content creator, I get to let my imagination run wild, producing epic videos celebrating our member companies’ accomplishments as well as creating impactful training content that helps to educate our member companies. I absolutely love that one day I can be flying a drone in southern Manitoba to help capture the sheer scope of our industry, and the next day be filming a success story of a member company achieving SAFE work certification. Perhaps the most rewarding part of my role is getting to share my passion for technology and innovation with others. Whether it is through supporting the Made Safe & broader CME teams with technology, leveraging my HR expertise, content creation, or course design and facilitation, I love the variety and scope of my role. There is never a dull moment! Being the Innovation and Technology Lead at Made Safe isn't just a job, it's a dream come true for me. When I need to be reminded at the end of the day that it’s time to go home as the lights are being turned off, I know I’ve found my forever home!
