I helped expand Pula Advisors presence in Pakistan around parametric agriculture insurance through a range of potential customers, partners and other stakeholders:✔ Customers: Banks, microfinance banks, microfinance Institutions, federal government, provincial governments and state governments, disaster risk funds setup by the federal and provincial governments, Agri-Tech companies and platforms and other aggregators✔ Partners: State-owned insurance companies, private sector insurance companies, reinsurers and international development agencies✔ Other stakeholders: Banking regulator, insurance regulator, farmers organizations and other organizations having a stake in climate related disasters and their impact on agriculture

I am managing all operating countries of the company currently across Asia and Africa with P&L responsibility. I have been entrusted with this role after merger of MicroEnsure with STP Group and creation of the Micro Insurance Company. Objectives of my role include shift from a culture of centralized decision-making to more of bottom-up by empowering and encouraging country leadership, designing turnaround strategies, restructuring where required, fast revenue growth and positive bottom-line of each OpCo and expanding into new markets. I have line management responsibility of country managers and lead them in formulating local business plans, securing new B2B partnerships, growing existing partnerships, creating new products and distribution channels, operational management, P&L management and local regulatory relationship management. Leveraging company's partnership with BrokersLink www.brokerslink.com, I also form partnerships with brokers in non-existing markets and create models of working together in digital & micro insurance space. I work on scouting new markets for a possible entry of the company by setting up new subsidiaries there. As part of the company's ExCom, I also have executive oversight of company operations in the US and LATAM.

My responsibilities included hiring, managing and leading business development teams in securing new B2B partnerships in telecommunication, FinTech and financial industries and coming up with commercially viable business models for distribution of digital and micro insurance products. Hiring of quality business development resources and developing their skills through company's DQ Selling Model were also my areas of responsibilities. My title was Group Business Director from February 2017 to December 2019 and changed to Chief Commercial Officer from January 2020 with same set of responsibilities.

I was responsible for growing company operations in existing operating markets i.e. Philippines, Bangladesh and Pakistan and exploring new markets for making an entry. I have been working closely with Emerging Customers team of AXA and explored Indonesia and Vietnam as potential new markets.

I was employed by AIG's American Life Insurance Company (Alico) in Pakistan. The local operation was predominantly selling through agency and my job was to create alternative distribution channels with focus on bancassurance. As first dedicated employee in alternative distribution, I was able to launch pure protection products through Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank.
