I am a recent graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and incoming first year at the University of Florida. During my time in high school, I was involved in leadership positions in my school’s STEM Club, Anatomage Competition Team, and Sports Medicine National Honor Society. These activities all contributed to my interest in the medical field.Community service has always been an integral component of my life, resulting in my five years on the Youth Advisory Council of Pinecrest. I served as council Chair in my junior year of high school and contributed to my parish, St. Louis, casserole baking program for homeless individuals living in Camillus House. I also was able to serve my community within Lourdes through the Sports Medicine Internship. I completed hundreds of clinical hours in performing recovery and rehabilitation for injured athletes. These programs have all prepared my work ethic, teamwork, and interpersonal skills within a work place, which are all vital to my field.During my time at the University of Florida, I would like to eventually pursue a masters degree and get involved in undergraduate research in either medicine or biotechnology. I also plan to become involved in a campus youth advocacy group as well as various STEM related student organizations.
