·Wrote, researched and edited documents related to land procurement in Nova Scotia, informing land owners and the public about programs and opportunities for conservation·Assisted with initiatives including conservation and restoration projects to monitor organization-owned land and prepare for restoration projects including trails and tree planting·Completed a carbon offset feasibility research project, evaluating the practicality using organizational land to offset emissions from other industries and individuals

·Wrote and edited over 10 articles on topics including deep sea research, the Coast Guard and fishery officers for publication in national newsletters and local media by conducting interviews and field research·Monitored a variety of media sources including print, electronic, TV and radio and published daily reports of DFO media coverage, while meeting tight deadlines·Organized and participated in press conferences and meetings and answered calls from media and other government departments·Completed formal media relations training seminar including techniques in preparing statements, speaking on-camera and working with reporters
