As a human resources development (HRD) specialist and Personal Brainer, Reidar helped client company personnel feel well and do well at work using BRIIM brain training methods. BRIIM products and services enabled increasingly skillful usage of mental abilities, such as attention, decision making, motivation, memory and creativity. The world's first brain fitness center was piloted in 2012 in Helsinki. In 2015, Finland's largest publisher WSOY published the book 'Personal Brainer' coauthored with neurobiologist Tiina Huttu.

Reidar's first gigs at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE (Yleisradio/Rundradion) were in the late 1970's. He started as a voice in language programs and actor in radio theater productions. While in 9th grade, he worked for two weeks as an intern (PRAO/TET) at the department of Swedish youth programs (Svenska barn- och ungdomsredaktionen). He wrote his first script for a dramatized documentary and co-produced it. He fell in love with radio and went on to work as a radio reporter and producer for years to come.In 1992 on Yle TV1, he co-hosted Kuntoasema, a weekly fitness program. His main task was to deliver weekly brain training exercises - years before anyone else was even thinking about them.In 1993 on Yle TV1, he provided for the weekly movie program Bosses Bio a junket interview from Stockholm with Johnny Depp and Lasse Hallstrom on their new film Gilbert Grape. The interview went very well and is one of the highlights in Reidar's career as a reporter.In the early 1990's, he hosted and produced radio programs in Swedish on the new youth channel Radio X and its successor Radio Extrem (svenska.yle.fi/x3m).In 1997 and 1998, he was invited to provide a weekly segment of Aivobic brain training for the Yle radio channel Radiomafia.In the late 1990's on Radio Extrem, he was the producer of radio programs created by his media students as a part of their BA media studies at the Arcada Polytechnic (now Arcada University of applied sciences).In 2010, on Yle FST 5 (now: Yle Teema Fem) he provided a weekly segment on brain training on the new morning show Min morgon and thereafter a weekly segment on social media and digital communications.In 2014 on Yle Fem (now: Yle Teema Fem) he was the titular host and judge Simon of the reality tv / street game show Simon (facebook.com/simon.streetgame)After this, Reidar has also hosted other programs on other channels.

As a Content Specialist Reidar used his expertise in media and communications to help create new media, entertainment and internet business ventures within NVO - the Nokia Ventures Organization.

As Program Director, Reidar first headed the existing media and communications degree program while simultaneously planning its replacement: a new four-year Bachelor of Arts program in Media and Communications.He then headed this new program at the newly formed Arcada Polytechnic. His responsibilities included development of the curricula, teaching, budgeting plus recruitment and selection of new personnel and students. He thus has the skills necessary to ramp up and head a college-level degree program and to employ and lead the staff.

As an on-air personality, Reidar worked as a travelling reporter and a host of talkshows, gameshows etc mainly in evening, late night and eary morning programs. Gradually, he began producing radio programs, as well as radio ads and campaigns. Thanks to this, he is familiar with all aspects of commercial radio program production and broadcasting.

As an Assistant to the Attaché of Industry and Technology Reidar handled office routines and participated in research assignments commissioned by Finnish technology companies.The most valuable learnings from this time relate to a growing understanding of international technology business - particularly between Finnish and US companies.During this time he also hosted a weekly show about entertainment and technology called LA Report broadcast on Radio 1 (91.1 FM) in Helsinki and sponsored by Telecom Finland.

www.exdecfinland.orgAs a customer trainer, Reidar trained employees of client companies to use the Unix and VAX/VMS operating systems of their DEC computers.His most valuable learnings were on how to learn about new computer technologies extremely fast: Since Reidar knew only a little about Unix and nothing about VAX/VMS, he had to learn them himself as he went along teaching about them. Based on the good evaluations he got from clients from the very start, apparently nobody noticed that he was winging it.

As a trainer and computer support person at Telenokia, Reidar provided PC software and hardware installation, support and training services to the developers of the globally very successful DX200 telephone systems.His main task was to help developers get started with new tools on their Nokia Mikromikko PCs - including a novel DOS GUI add-on from Microsoft called 'Windows' - operated with a so called 'mouse'. This taught Reidar valuable lessons in how to handle situations where new yet to be proven technologies encounter resistance from users with well-established work habits.

Already an avid amateur child actor, Reidar enjoyed his first acting experiences in a professional setting as a cast member of Noak. The modern and symbolic play - many years ahead of its time - was directed by the visionary David Hanhilammi (born Hamilton) from NYC, NY, USA, but of Finnish ancestry. This incredible 18-month learning experience provided many valuable friendships. Above all, it helped Reidar develop his skills in the craft of acting and more fully realize his passion for public performances.

Reidar started earning his own money at the age of eight. Beginning in the autumn of 1975, he began walking from door to door as a Sales Representative in the southern areas of rural Sipoo/Sibbo where his family had just moved. Using the book catalogue of the Swedish distribution company Fem Förlag Ab ("Five Publishers Inc" in Swedish) he generated orders of books until October. As the books arrived in large boxes in November, he delivered them to each client and collected cash payments. Over the years, he covered a growing geographical area by bike and grew the business every year until it amounted to several thousand FIM (markka/mark) from which the commissions were substantial for a child.Having reached the ripe age of 14, Reidar relinquished the flourishing business with its clientele to his younger brother Mark, who began sales in the season of 1982, when he was eight, like Reidar had been, and grew the business even more throughout the 1980s.
