Shortly after earning my Bachelor's degree from USF, I was hired at Syniverse Technologies to manage data platform technologies like Cloudera Hadoop, Confluent Kafka, StreamSets, and PostgreSQL. I specialize in using monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Promscale to observe the health of each cluster and configure alerting for KPIs. Most notably, I completed a project that entailed automating the collection of application usage for our Hadoop, Kafka, and Streamsets clusters so we could distribute the license cost to each application based on its use of the shared platform. After completing my Master's degree from USF I have taken on more data science roles. Currently, I am leading an initiative to use machine learning to monitor our most valuable data feeds. I have seen success with time-series modeling using the Prophet package interfaced with Grafana Cloud. During my graduate studies, I completed a project to predict player and team stats for upcoming NFL games. This includes a Python script for data collection, a PostgreSQL database for storage, and Python scripts to build machine learning models. For example, I created a model in Python to identify which team would cover the spread in a given matchup. I can't wait until football is back so I can put them to use!
