I am a social scientist, ecologist, and writer working to accelerate climate action for coasts and oceans. I focus on research to support and enable decision makers and practitioners to build and sustain adaptive resilience as they define it.For the past twenty-five years, I have led and worked with diverse teams and projects in the Americas, Europe, and Africa to balance development with natural resource conservation and human well-being. My research engages data, stories, and collaborations that move climate projects towards more equitable, transparent, and measurable outcomes. Originally from coastal New Hampshire, I live with my husband, daughter, and our horses and dogs in midcoast Maine.
