Currently I am working for De Vernieuwde Stad, a network of 27 urban housing associations. I am interested in how cities develop. How they are coping with the challenges of growth? As a social psychologist people are what interests me most. How do they interact in the urban environment and how does the physical environment influence them? My focus is on cities in Europe and Latin America. Ocasionally I moderate (urban) debates and discussions on urban topics involving citizen, policy makers, institutions and/or academics.I used to write articles and books on issues concerning housing and urban development in Europe and Latin America..In 2008 I published a book about housing in Europe, titeled: 'Grenzeloos Wonen - Europa verhuist'. I wrote a monthly column on 'European housing' for the german magazine Die Wohnungswirtschaft and I contributex to the online magazine www.Citiscope.org.In 2014 I did three months of research in Medellin (Colombia) on the socio-economic impact of an outdoor escalator in a poor neighborhood. In 2015 I won a Prins Bernhard Scholarship for my research proposal on contested public spaces in Buenos Aires, which allowed me to do two months of fieldwork in the city.Specialism: moderating, copy wirting, journalism, participation, policy development, communication, housing & urban development, social research, Latin America
