Partner - Managing Attorney Medicare Compliance And Workers' Compensation Department
Current• Handle all aspects insurance defense litigation from inception of file to final hearing.• Draft motions, attend hearings, depose and cross-examine expert witnesses, handle State and private mediations and maintain ongoing dialogue with clients regarding overall strategies.• Manage case load of 90-100 cases on an ongoing basis. • Negotiate between five and seven-figure settlements. • Prepare exposure evaluations for clients providing legal analysis and recommendations. • Prepare Medicare Set-Aside proposals to ensure compliance with the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute, regulations, and policy memoranda.• Conduct Medicare and Medicaid conditional lien inquiries, investigations, and negotiations. • Write articles regarding Medicare issues.• Manage Medicare Compliance department, supervising attorneys, nurses, and office staff in preparation of Medicare Set-Aside proposals, training all to ensure Medicare’s interests are protected in workers’ compensation and civil settlements.
