Lead Solution Architect for a project that delivered adaptive authentication capabilities to online and mobile banking platforms. This component utilizes risk analysis and policy to determine if a user should be challenged for additional credentials and raises confidence in the true identity of the online/mobile user. RSA’s Adaptive Authentication platform is leveraged for this purpose. Architectural activities centered on how to best leverage the SOA architecture defined and implemented in the Fusion Program with minimal impact to existing systems. RSA-AA is a J2EE application architected to be highly available and scalable to meet the immediate and future needs of the online/mobile channels. Accomplishments:• Delivered a Solution Statement to gain consensus with all stakeholders on the overall solution and provide direction to designers and developers and meet stringent performance, resiliency and security requirements.• Leveraged & enhanced existing enterprise services; thereby increasing a return on investment on services created by the Fusion Program and further anchoring services as central to all future solutions

Lead Solution Architect for the Fusion program. In this capacity I lead a group of IT architects covering all architectural domains to provide guidance and specification for all projects within the Fusion program. The Fusion program includes enhancements to core banking, a new retail and business online banking solution, a new retail mobile banking solution, a new enterprise service bus supporting services aligned to BIAN and IFX, integration with a variety of external partners, improved governance, the creation of enterprise architecture artifacts based on TOGAF. This program is filled with an incredible amount of challenge and complexity ... everything an architect loves.Accomplishments:• Leveraged TOGAF ADM to set architectural methodology and define architectural deliverables for all domains of architecture• Led architectural visioning and architectural building block activities to help set strategic direction and tactical milestones• Transformed architecture with numerous single points of failure to one with fully redundant components at both the application and infrastructure layers.• Introduced the concepts of performance testing and resiliency testing to prove the non-functional capabilities of the solution in production. • Led the architectural direction for online/mobile banking, the enterprise service bus (ESB), the loan origination system and core banking enhancements.• Led the architectural thinking that allowed the organization to offer members a single view of all account holdings within one login rather than many individual logins.• Formalized the architectural direction through Architectural Vision, Architectural Building Blocks, Architectural Solution Blocks, Solution Statements, Architectural Decisions and Prescriptive Guidance.• Aligned the organization to industry standards, specifically leveraging Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) and Interactive Financial Exchange (IFX) to help guide the architectural effort

Channel Solution Architect on the ATB CORE initiative responsible for internal channels. This included applications delivered to tellers, branch staff, contact centre employees and other front/mid office roles within the bank. The CORE initiative replaced most core banking functionality, leveraging J2EE and SAP technologies, including SAP Portal, SAP Banking, SAP CRM, SAP Bank Analyzer, Payment Engine and SAP BI. This massive $400M+ initiative aligned itself with the bank's Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategy, which Reinhardt co-defined in 2006-2007 while working with the bank on the preliminary activities that set it on the path of a core banking replacement. Accomplishments:• Solution Architect for the multi-million dollar re-architecture of the current Java-based Customer Service Application to refine existing functionality and align with the Service-Oriented Architecture. • Solution Architect for a new multi-million dollar customer centric Enterprise Portal Solution based on SAP Portal technology, leveraging enterprise services, remote function calls, SAP GUI, SAP iViews, custom WebDynpro Java components and client-side eventing. • Solution Architect for a variety of smaller initiatives including mass printing architecture, X9 electronic cheque exchange and electronic statements.• Influenced Enterprise Architectures through formal Architectural Decisions. Contributed to 22 of 61 formally defined Architectural Decisions.• Reviewed various SOA deliverables including governance model, supported integration patterns, messaging standards, and the granularity of services. Numerous feedback was provided that improved the quality of enterprise services.• Provided guidance throughout performance testing activities, with measurable improvement in Java heap management, connection pooling, optimization of web service requests and caching.

Notable Accomplishments:• Contributed in a range of roles on IT Solution Projects including Solution Architect, Application Architect, Integration Architect, Team Leader, Software Design, Application Development, Vendor Management and Development Manager.• Responsible for the overall technical solution of a Curam v5.1 implementation. Developed architectural models, consulted on operational models, collected non-functional requirements. • As Development Manager, led a team of 10 developers and nurtured exceptional agile processes that led to high-quality deliverables. • Co-defined the architecture for an IFX based messaging platform utilized by ATB Financial. Led a team of 5+ analysts and developers in the definition, development and testing of IFX services.• Co-invented a Java-based tool to auto-generate a series of unit tests that ensured the syntactical and semantic correctness of message transformations. The solution was selected to compete for an IBM internal innovation award.• Instrumental in the architecture, design and development of Alberta Wellnet's event-driven publish-subscribe framework, based on Java and IBM's MQSeries technologies. • Headed a group of data analysts, messaging analysts, and integration developers to define and develop the HL7 standards and frameworks for Alberta Wellnet. • Demonstrated an ability to deliver innovative solutions using new and established technologies.
