My main role in FRS was leading the software design of their flagship product - Invest|Pro™. Invest|Pro™ is an investment administration system used in over 30 life insurance companies around Europe. Under my stewardship we transformed from a point-and-click desktop application to a web interface with scheduled middleware, which lead to a large increase in the client base.My degree in actuarial mathematics really helped me understand the highly complex business scenarios I needed to implement, including: - Tax accrual calculations for UK and Irish life insurance companies - Cash allocation / appropriations for tiered fund structures - Algorithmic calculation of trade orders and automatic deal placement and management - Unit price / NAV calculation and the associated charge accruals and deductions - Fund accounting, maintaining a full general ledger for the fund and creating the associated financial statements and regulatory returnsI also supported the sales team in technical presales meetings, conducting workshops, gathering client requirements, and estimating development costs.
