Dr. Bhandari has had a distinguished career spanning several prestigious institutions, making significant contributions to Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.Her exceptional skills, compassionate approach, and dedication to patient care have earned Dr. Bhandari recognition and respect in the medical community. Her work has positively impacted countless lives, and she remains committed to advocating for eldercare improvements in her native India.In February 2015, she delivered the keynote address at the United Nations on aging and intergenerational gaps, showcasing her deep commitment to senior causes. A year later, she was honored with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.Dr. Bhandari's expertise also extends beyond institutional settings. In 2005, she founded HOPE (Home Visit Program for the Elderly), providing comprehensive medical care to elderly individuals at home. This home-visitation program initially provided basic physician services but has since expanded to comprehensive clinical delivery which includes Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy Services and a Meals on Wheels program. Allowing seniors to age at home with dignity under the HOPE Program, and changing the perception of clinical capabilities of nursing homes is the most satisfying aspect of her career so far.
