Since its launch in 2016, Zcash has quickly grown to be one of the most valued and admired cryptocurrencies in the world.As Head of Engineering and Product Management, I was responsible for a number of engineering and product related functions:- Led the engineering efforts and ecosystem preparations and outreach for the Heartwood, Canopy, and NU5 network upgrades, the largest upgrade in Zcash history.- Established numerous partnerships and negotiated multiple agreements with the Ethereum Foundation and Filecoin Foundation for research and development with payments and grants totalling over $9 million.- Led the early research into a Proof of Stake transition and increased interop capability for Zcash, resulting in Tendermint as the leading protocol choice and IBC as a potential interoperability solution. - Redesigned the process by which network upgrades, or hard forks are deployed in production including specification, development, testnet deployment, partner integration, and ecosystem readiness.- Established the ECC Scientific Advisory Group consisting of such industry luminaries such as Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum), Zaki Manian (Cosmos), and Arthur Brietman (Tezos).- Led an economic study in conjunction with George Mason University to conduct an economic analysis of various fee mechanisms that could be employed within Zcash to support additional asset types- Established and hosted the bi-weekly Zcash Arborist calls, which are community calls focused on protocol research and development initiatives
