Chairman Of The Trustees, The Hearst Castle Preservation Foundation
Our Foundation works to help restore and maintain the two billion dollars in art and structures that comprise the Hearst Castle complex. We also support the Castle's goals of educating young people about the historic value of the Hearst collection. Eighty-seven percent of the income generated by Hearst Castle visitors goes to maintain California's free state parks. Our work, and the work of other groups such as the Friends of Hearst Castle, is essential in attempting to maintain the Castle's unique collection and place in the history of California.

As a Governor of the Trustees, I assist in acquiring new lands for the park system, hosting international delegations in the BVI and in Europe, and coordinating environmental initiatives with other countries and territories.
