About Rem Bahadur Bk Tomata
I am Rem Bahadur BK. I believe myself as a visionary, a tireless advocate, a social changemaker, a renowned Nepalese Dalit Rights Activist, and Journalist. I born into a Dalit family in a small remote village in Palpa district, grew up acutely aware of the caste-based inequality and discrimination entrenched in Nepali society, involving for Dalit liberation since more than two decades, I have strengthened the voice for human rights, freedom of speech, peace, democracy, rights of Dalits (vulnerable communities), diversity in media, representation of other backward classes (OBC). I have also involved in humanitarian support, election observation during the disaster, and election time, I have devoted me to pushing the Dalit issue, human rights, violence, conflict, and social issues to the forefront of the national and international agenda.Currently, I have been serving as a president of the Jagaran Media Center since 2008, Chief in Editor of Dalit Dignity Post (2020). In addition to that, I am a member of the High-Level Inclusive Media Commission under the Nepal government, information and communication ministry, coordinator of inclusive media alliance, Member of the Asia Dalit Rights Forum, member of the South Asia Network for Community Media, Central Committee Secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ). I have a high level of national and international exposure. I have presented various research papers on Dalit rights, human rights, journalism advocacy, writing articles, and delivered speeches on Media, Dalit, inclusion, and Human rights on national and international workshops, seminars, and conferences in different counties. I have been awarded Dr. Ambedkar Kalashree National Award, 2013, India, Media International Social Awareness Award, 2013, Nepal, Australian Leadership Award, 2010, Australia, I have done a master’s degree in media and mass communication.My work reflects my values and enables me to travel widely and enhance the lives of others.
