My name is Remco de Reus, living in the Netherlands and I am the founder of APEX Collection. But besides that I also work as Amalgam Collection’s in-house 3D automotive digital sculptor and as a technical draftsman at MECAL High-tech/Systems. I enjoy practicing many different roles, but I spend most of my passion on designing automotive sculptures and running my company APEX Collection as Amalgam Collection’s brand specialist. My career started in 2008 at MECAL High-tech/Systems where I worked as a junior engineer. I am still working at that company, but this time as a technical draftsman. Although MECAL has nothing to do with cars, I kept looking for something I could contribute to the world of automotive art or technology. This led me in 2018 to set up my own company on designing automotive sculptures and the collaboration with Amalgam Collection was born where I took care of the design of miniature sculptures and still do today. In 2022 and after taking care of quite a few sculpture designs, I was assigned a new role as official Amalgam Collection’s brand specialist. In consultation and with Amalgam's permission, I founded APEX Collection, which aims to serve as a kind of extension to provide additional services to business companies. From day 1, APEX Collection has been dedicated to providing advice and selling scale models exclusively from the Amalgam Collection brand. My fascination with the unparalleled precision and detail with which the artisans of Amalgam Collection craft their products, as well as many years of exclusive collaboration with the people of Amalgam Collection, are the reasons why I only focus exclusively on this brand. My ambition? Although I am lucky with what I have been given, it is my ambition to set up new sculpture collections in collaboration with Amalgam Collection in the coming years. And of course I hope to be successful in my role as Amalgam Collections official brand specialist as well.
